Steve Pond TheWrap It’s breezy enough to be mildly diverting and gently nostalgic, so maybe it’s best to think of “Leave One Day” as the little appetizer that’s been served before Cannes brings out the big meals. May 19, 2025 Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) No signature style. No aggressive personality. Very little personality at all, in fact. Rated: 2/5 May 15, 2025 Full Review Ben Croll IndieWire This is an expressly millennial nostalgia play -- often endearingly so, if you ask this particular millennial -- and one that, in key respects, pines for an already-globalized era. As in karaoke, you don’t need to know the song to appreciate the gusto. hell h Not sure why the audience is so thrilled by the movie and the plot - it’s a story of a 40yo woman who has relationship of 10 years with her partner. She comes back to her hometown since her father has health issues and at some point, she revives the relationship she had with her then boyfriend in high school. The same man is now married and has a child as well, yet they kiss at the end of the movie and people are just romanticizing the whole thing. I could’ve understand if both characters are single and they want to explore the possibility of being together again. However, taking into consideration the lives they both have with their partners, I can just pray that this kind of love never finds me. I understand that this is not the whole point of the movie, still this gave me a bitter aftertaste especially seeing the audience amazed by their actions towards each other.
