Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com A short, sweet, and rather illuminating look at a comedy tour that went into harm's way, just to bring some smiles to a few soldiers' faces. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 10, 2006 Full Review Eric D. Snider eFilmCritic.com Rated: 5/5 May 6, 2006 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This guy is really funny - I love Jeffrey Ross! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member A nice little film. Shot entirely with a home video camera so it's shaky and grainy, but that helps to give it more of a first-person feel. The focus isn't so much on the comedy or the performers, but it definitely has some funny moments. Interviews with the soldiers really help to show the positive effect these performers have on the morale of the troops. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Good mix of comedy and documentary about a USO tour to Iraq. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review david h Jeffrey Ross, a Friar's Club regular and comedy club mainstay for the past 15 years, steps into the role of documentary filmmaker in "Patriot Act." As part of Drew Carey's USO tour, Ross recorded over 15 hours of footage during a five-day trip through Iraq. What had begun as a home movie soon turned into something more for Ross as he was faced with the realities of war. Although the film is essentially a comedy, "Patriot Act" contains many heart-felt moments. Blake Clarke, one of the comedians on the tour and a decorated Vietnam Vet, recounts memories of war, the 60's anti-war movement, and military life then and now. Ross interviews many soldiers stationed throughout Iraq, giving the viewer honest, first-hand accounts of the controversial "war on terror." "Patriot Act" is a wonderful film about war, the healing power of comedy, and one man's journey from the comedy club circuit to the front lines in Iraq. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member 6.5/10. Enjoyable filming of a USO tour in Iraq. It’s not just stand-up comedy routines, what really made it interesting was the background information and the filming of travelling through Iraq as well as the interviews with the G.I.’s Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
