Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald 11/19/2018
Director Slavko Martinov captures everything with humour and respect, and his coverage of an unfortunately painful battle for the future of the club adds a keen poignancy. Go to Full Review

While competitive chicken showing in New Zealand may seem pretty niche, the story of human obsession is universal and, in Martinov's hands, very accessible. Go to Full Review

A sufficiently engaging delve into a niche interest and those who feel defined by it. But one which, narratively at least, backs the wrong gamecock. Go to Full Review

We can point our fingers and laugh at the guy shampooing and blow-drying a chicken, or applaud him for finding an outlet to express his creativity and competitive spirit. Go to Full Review

07/31/2022 The greatest 01 hour: and 28 minutes with real footage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more 03/27/2019 They could have made fun of the people who came across as very backwoodsy but they instead showed a side of nz society - the incorporated society, the politics and and trials of keeping a club relevant in this modern day and age . Great movie See more 03/28/2018 Loved it! I have backyard chickens here in New Mexico and found kindred spirits in these folks! Lovely people with lovely birds! See more 03/24/2018 The Movie info doesn't at all match the outcome of this documentary. Having been a member of several clubs that all have turned into political messes, this show awkwardly stumbles through some very unhappy moments for the club involved and does not make for pleasant viewing at all. It merely proves that in all things, animals conduct themselves significantly better than humans do. Not a pleasant watch and we fast forwarded through the confrontational bits. The chickens were awesome of course. See more 03/19/2018 Really enjoyed this film. Funny antics and some stunning chooks. Loses half a star for not having a super catchy semi awkward but fun jingle that carries the hilarious mood of this doco. See more Patty H 02/22/2018 Hilarious & surprisingly moving look at the competitive side of human nature. Oh, ... and chickens. See more Read all reviews
