Raven S It's a fine movie for when you want to stay in and be emo. The acting overall is not bad, and the sex scenes are decent. I think it's obvious, though that the writers/editors did not pay huge attention to the finished product, as there's a very big glaring scene when Haley calls her Manager a completely different name. I've made all my partners watch this movie with me, and they all ended up angry and throwing little boy fits from jealousy over Enzo Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review RICHA S I think the script of the movie was okayish. There wasnt much to the movie. It wasnt a great movie just silly. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this movie and believe it has been very under-rated. It is a guilty pleasure to watch and probably will be most appreciated by fans of gothic-tinged rock, psycho-thrillers, and Twilight fans (2 actors from Twilight movie series)- and there are some good erotic sex scenes. The actors deliver very good, credible performances- and three actors sing some great songs on the soundtrack! There is more complexity and layers to this movie than you can appreciate in one watching- I appreciated the movie much more on the second watch and wonder whether some critics who didn't like it gave it enough time to appreciate it fully. There are some excellent scenes (my faves are the hotel backrub scene, the hotel dress-up/pool scene, the video scene, and all scenes with Annie) and changes direction to become a psychological thriller. This movie tackles a lot of questions and themes and does so full throttle. Catherine Hardwicke directed, co-wrote, and co-produced this movie--she directed the first Twilight movie in the series--and brings her talent for dark, intense, youthful angst to this movie. She also hired Nick Launey, famous music producer, for the soundtracks, which are awesome- so listen to it! My favorite character is Annie, and I wonder whether Catherine Hardwicke wrote this character based on herself? Annie is the manager of the band and lives and breathes the wild rock'n-roll, sex, and drugs lifestyle but manages not to be consumed by the chaos of it, rather she is always the in-control fixer who can manage the most extreme situations. She is a fun character! The chemistry between the two main characters is real--they began dating after meeting in this movie. This movie is intense to the point of being campy at times, but it's a fun ride and worth a watch or two! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Ultimately it's a skeezy Fatal Attraction-type of movie, that tries a little too hard to be edgy, but sadly comes across more as silly. Jen Chaney The Dissolve Plush is just a B-movie B-side that few will take note of, a modern riff on Fatal Attraction that shoots for edgy, and lands on silly. Rated: 1/5 Oct 14, 2013 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com It feels so inauthentic at every turn, it's as if the film itself is unsure of what it's supposed to be. Rated: .5/4 Sep 13, 2013 Full Review Eric Melin Scene-Stealers.com Plush is all over the map, but when its characters prattle on about how important their art is amidst all that terrible pose-heavy music, its really insufferable. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 28, 2013 Full Review Alexander Lowe We Got This Covered Plush is a twisted tale of obsession, and the great performances from the entire cast make for a delightfully dark movie. Rated: 8/10 Oct 14, 2013 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Doesn't have a single interesting idea to share, wallowing in excess and stupidity, paying more attention to the thickness of eyeliner than the complexity of its mystery. Rated: D Oct 3, 2013 Full Review Drew Taylor The Playlist Ultimately Plush exceeds its very limited expectations of a youth-oriented erotic thriller. It's arch, smart, and incredibly melodramatic.
