Critics Consensus

Rampage isn't as fun as its source material, but the movie's sheer button-mashing abandon might satisfy audiences in the mood for a brainless blockbuster.

The bulk of the problems with “Rampage” lie with the script. Four writers are credited (or to blame, depending on your perspective) with putting this hodgepodge together. Go to Full Review

Neither deliciously campy nor elevating the material, Rampage feels like it checks every box mandated by the studio's publicity department, while leaving everything onscreen achingly boring, unless you're an 8-year-old boy. Go to Full Review

Roderick B Dec 22 love it funny and a lot of action See more 4d This movie was terrible... one of those switch your brain off kinda movies that make no sense about anything. Guess thats what the 71% percent that liked this movie can naturally do. It even tried to yank at heart strings with poorly rendered cgi creatures, that apparently many peole cried for, not realizing the creatures weren't real See more Mania I. @TheMania510 Nov 16 Quite enjoyable big critter movie loosely based on a video game. Fun with lots of action. Popcorn movie. Special effects are pretty decent. Faces paced and a great cast make up for a Ludacris plot and a so-so screenplay. See more Pedro Henrique C @Pedro2005 Sep 21 Rampage (2018) is a very confusing story, things happen very quickly and there is no in-depth development in the central part. The very bad script doesn't help at all, the only thing the direction speeds up is the very questionable CGI and a lot of destruction. See more Vincent W @Gojirilla5419 Sep 19 It’s very similar to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. It’s very goofy, and that’s all it’s trying to be, and every scene with the monsters is a gem.
