Josh A 10/22/2024 This was a solid movie. Nowhere near as good as Ring, but still good. It's the first movie exclusive to the Rasen timeline and it's a solid start. It does get a bit boring at times but it's worth a watch if you want to see a very different continuation to Ring. Overall, solid film but can't say much about it. Ring 2 next! See more S. Laughably complicated and crazy writing while everything else has lost most of its creativity. It may not be boring, but only little is left that it has in common with its predecessor. See more 07/07/2017 This is the movie that everyone be forgot about but because made the dumb choice of releasing it at the same time as Ringu. It's so boring and not scary at all. Instead of a creepy athmosohere like its predecessor, this one is just depressing. See more 10/31/2014 I am not going to say this was fantastic, but it was interesting and took this Ringu series in a different direction. Sadako is more sinister than scary here. I was unaware there were two Ringu 2 films made and this was the failed flop leading to the remake. Honestly it's been some time since I saw the other Ringu 2, so I would like to watch it again before commenting on whether this was valid or not. I did enjoy this. It definitely had it's faults, but as previously stated, it was interesting and I'm glad to have added it to my collection. See more 08/17/2013 this movie will either blow your mind or confuse the hell out of you,by the end you get a sense that life and death are all but an illusion and reality is not always what it seems,this movie has gotten a bad wrap over the years but for those who actually get what its putting across will see its the perfect bridge between ringu and ringu 2. See more 08/08/2013 Rasen is one of two sequels to Ringu, and it is the one based off the novels, but plot problems and a fewer scares make it inferior to Ringu 2 (the other sequel).
