Fast-paced and stunningly animated, Ratatouille adds another delightfully entertaining entry -- and a rather unlikely hero -- to the Pixar canon.

Anupama Chopra Film Companion This is a film about a rat who becomes a chef in Paris. But it's so much more than that. It's about what a great artist can be, where a great artist can come from, it's about food and how to savour it. May 18, 2020 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) It's a great programme for all the family. Rated: 4/5 Jul 29, 2015 Full Review Ryan Gilbey New Statesman Ratatouille is a wonderful, wistful comedy, and a sparkling return to form for the computer animation studio Pixar after last year's lacklustre Cars. Aug 24, 2014 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Ratatouille puts the "anyone can cook" motto to the test and while it's an absurd premise, this film is absolutely beautiful in every way. Rated: 4.5/5 Jun 29, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film It doesn’t have a flaw; it’s perfect storytelling and its emotional payoff is a landmark. Jun 15, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Despite the unexplained language barriers or farfetched plot, this delightfully delicious foray into the unimaginable never becomes preachy or immature. Jay W "Ratatouille" is yet another great Pixar film. It is brought to us by director Brad Bird who has previously made "Iron Giant" and "The Incredibles" along with some Golden Age "Simpsons" stuff. Like all Pixar films of the time, it was a box office smash (making 623 million dollars) and a critical darling (winning best Animated Picture at the Oscars). But when I first saw the film, it didn't sit well with me. I didn't care for how it ended and consequently thought the whole thing was just OK. In subsequent viewings I have learned to like the film a lot more. I now see the ending in a different light and legitimately enjoy the movie. There are still some plot points that still bother me. Some conflicts feel artificial and the movie's double antagonist make the pacing lopsided. But enough of the negatives, onto the many things that make the film great. The music, animation and voice acting are all top notch. The premise of the rat who wants to become a gourmet chef is very unique and the film capitalizes on the clever idea. And we have this film to thank for both "Ratatoing" and "RaccoonTouille". Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Audience Member If I was a chef, this would be right up my alley. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Max K The animation, amazing! The voice acting, amazing! The plot, amazing! I would definitely recommend this to anyone Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Ioannis Alex M A genuine masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Niklas L Ratatouille is the typical Disney animated movie, but the movie is not only a light and cute Friday-Night-Laugh (but the rats are damn cute). Through the use of the cook Gusteau (that the rat imagines), the movie provides a lot of food for thought. The Rat, Remy, is obviously going through an existential struggle - trying to be with his family whilst living his dream as a cook. Gusteau gives the needed insights (and frequently warns Remy of doing something stupid) to develop into a version of himself that ultimately grows into his dream. First, Remy chooses to stay with Alfredo Linguini, the garbage boy that saves his life, because it is the right thing to do. Remy struggles both with the relationship with Linguini and with his family, Remys life crashes into pieces, but his family still supports him. Ultimately, with the help from his family, he takes control of the situation and comes to terms with everyone. A wonderful story about the importance of family as long-term relationships (even if they are no easy relationships), and passion (for food)! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review rural M "Ratatouille" is a delightful animated film that captures the essence of the art of cooking with an interesting story and plenty of funny moments. The movie takes viewers on a culinary journey that will leave you craving gourmet dishes. However, a word of caution: do not watch this film on an empty stomach, as the mouth-watering dishes will surely make you hungry! In addition to its light-hearted moments, "Ratatouille" also tugs at the heartstrings with some touching and sad moments that add depth to the story. Just when you think you know where the plot is going, the movie surprises you with a clever plot twist that keeps you engaged until the very end. Overall, "Ratatouille" is a charming and heartwarming film that celebrates the joy of cooking and the importance of following your dreams. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
