Empire Staff Empire Magazine The oddball nightmare style is effective but the prop pig and under par acting let the film down. Rated: 2/5 Oct 23, 2020 Full Review Christy Lemire ChristyLemire.com It isn't as nutty as it could have been, and it certainly isn't as nutty as its description suggests. Rated: 2/4 Jul 31, 2018 Full Review Variety Staff Variety The plot may be a bit familiar, but Razorback is no quickie: it's an extremely handsome production, beautifully shot by Dean Semler. May 29, 2008 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Complete with an expected low-angle pig cam, humorous gore, and unpredictable casualties, it offers dependable '80s B-movie thrills. Rated: 5/10 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending Has a degree of menacing atmosphere that is virtually unknown to the giant man-eating animal genre. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 19, 2020 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst It's gorgeous to look at and plays brilliantly as a horror thriller, be it of nature vs man or locals vs outsiders. Audience Member The 1984 film “Razorback”, is a masterfully-made Australian horror film that breaks free from “Ozsploitation” standards. The film is packed with some the most incredible cinematography in film history. The top-tier Australian actors aren’t afraid to improvise, the harsh setting is amplified by the colorful and diverse characters, the razorback boar itself is a realistic and representative monster; nothing more and nothing less; a bizarre killing machine that doesn’t want to be alive, and the action sequences are tense, eventful, and extremely climatic. I couldn’t recommend any film more to anyone. Watch it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Ian S Jaws with boars. B grade horror with some nice visuals but not much else. Too cliched and some of the acting is awful. A better script and cast would have helped. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/24/25 Full Review Daniel C. M Moby Dick and Jaws meet Jodorowsky and Lynch, alongside a overgrown pig; everything goes haywire. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Bumble B Main characters (Beth Winters & then Carl Winters) are as bright as blown bulbs and constantly mess up which makes them irritating as hell. Not to mention the two inbred brothers who were okay with assault, attempted R-word and attempted murder on top of killing a dog just because. What a croc of it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review william s Surprisingly Boaring (please clap) and not exactly what I was expecting in terms of pacing and general vibes. For a creature feature it leaned a bit too heavily on the weird people living in the outback than the actual creature itself. Simply put, I was definitely craving more of the titular creature. Even late into the movie I feel like we never got that big payoff shot of the enormous razorback in all it's glory. In a way, it feels unnecessarily artistic at times, taking itself too seriously. Just give me a giant pig that goes around killing people. Don't overthink it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Michael G For a pretty old horror movie, its very good. Set in the harsh Australian outback. The wild pigs there really are nasty, and big. Many of the Australian actors went on to become very well known eg Judy Morris.
