What to Know

Critics Consensus

Less a course correction than a compounding of everything that tangled up its predecessor, The Scargiver is an uninvolving space opera full of flat notes.

Audience Says

Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver is just as visually stylish as other Zack Snyder epics, which helps make up for the flat story and thinly written characters.

Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) It is hard to explain how much I do not give a flying fruit cake rolled up in a donut about any of these characters. Aug 15, 2024 Full Review Jesse Hassenger Guardian As a playground for Snyder’s favorite bits of speed-ramping, shallow-focusing and pulp thievery, it’s harmless, sometimes pleasingly weird fun. Rated: 3/5 Apr 27, 2024 Full Review Kyle Logan Chicago Reader This space opera sequel doesn’t quite capture the worldbuilding magic of its predecessor. Apr 27, 2024 Full Review Dave Giannini InSession Film Unless you love every, and I mean every, movie that Snyder has ever created, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will be an exercise in patience and frustration. The film could make a great 15-minute sizzle reel, but that’s where the entertainment ends. Rated: D Feb 26, 2025 Full Review Joseph Tomastik Loud and Clear Reviews Rebel Moon Part Two essentially puts all work with its characters and ideas back in the box for an extravaganza that just. Keeps. Going. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 8, 2024 Full Review Jason Best What To Watch It is not until The Scargiver reaches its humongous final showdown that Snyder really gets to show his chops. Jim B Oh my gosh! I know sequels usually don't quite live up to the first movie, and this is sadly. no exception. Luckily I discovered you can award half a star because I gave the first film only 1 star! Asking me to believe that someone would successfully fight off a blaster-equipped army with nothing but an axe is too much. And as for the humans shoveling coal into the furnace of a starship to power it? Oh come on! Don't waste your life on this one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Nick B This movie along with it's first installment is a perfect example of how NOT to make a movie. I hope this movie is studied for many years to come on what not to do in terms of literally EVERYTHING having to do with movie making, story writing, character writing and world building. What a complete waste of everyone's time and money. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review John B I love these films. The whole corn montage was very stupid and skippable but the rest of the movie is extremely engaging. Excellent world building. I hope they continue to make more films. Only watch the director's cut. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review To H Wonderful and epic scenery Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/25 Full Review Cristian s Cumple exactamente todas mis expectativas: maravillosa visualmente, música épica, slow motion, accion exagerada, grandes efectos, slow motion, explosiones, tiros, peleas, mas slow motion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Melissa S I like how the story continued and more unfolded. I wish it was a little faster but I do like what was created here.
