What to Know

Critics Consensus

Less a course correction than a compounding of everything that tangled up its predecessor, The Scargiver is an uninvolving space opera full of flat notes.

Audience Says

Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver is just as visually stylish as other Zack Snyder epics, which helps make up for the flat story and thinly written characters.

Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) It is hard to explain how much I do not give a flying fruit cake rolled up in a donut about any of these characters. Aug 15, 2024 Full Review Jesse Hassenger Guardian As a playground for Snyder’s favorite bits of speed-ramping, shallow-focusing and pulp thievery, it’s harmless, sometimes pleasingly weird fun. Rated: 3/5 Apr 27, 2024 Full Review Kyle Logan Chicago Reader This space opera sequel doesn’t quite capture the worldbuilding magic of its predecessor. Apr 27, 2024 Full Review Joseph Tomastik Loud and Clear Reviews Rebel Moon Part Two essentially puts all work with its characters and ideas back in the box for an extravaganza that just. Keeps. Going. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 8, 2024 Full Review Jason Best What To Watch It is not until The Scargiver reaches its humongous final showdown that Snyder really gets to show his chops. Sep 5, 2024 Full Review Jack Martin Film Feeder I just don’t understand why Snyder felt the need to turn this into a two-part movie, as the end results clearly show that there is no benefit to having this particular story be dragged out for as long as it has. Oliver T I know a lot of people may not have enjoyed this science fiction comedy, but I think they missed what it was going for. If you were taking this movie seriously for 5 minutes, bless your soul. I laughed so hard I cried. One of only a few movies where every scene is dumber than the last. Don't watch this movie expecting Star Wars, this is dumb and dumber in space. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Worst sequel to a first part not focusing on storyline or any other character depth Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/11/24 Full Review Deadpool F Worst sequel for a movie that doesn’t have any character development and storyline Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review John B A huge steaming pile of cow dung from a hack director Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review T'Anna T The movie was very fun. I felt very attached to the characters and thought it was an interesting story. The harvest scene and the big fight were amazing! A small town fighting for its freedom, and they paid a heavy price. Don't trust the critics, watch it for yourself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Joe S This movie is not for age 13 and up. It is for age 16 and lower. Anyone over the age of 16 has already seen this movie in many other movies. It is essentially a clip-show of sci-fi history over the last several decades. Children will love it! Because they have not seen this stuff before. it is all new to them and they will be amazed. However, most adults will recognize so many of the plot themes and graphics which were lifted (almost directly with no edit) from other movies and stories. The only way to digest this movie (part 1 and 2) is to view it as a sci-fi cartoon and not some kind of groundbreaking mature entertainment. Great graphics.
