John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture This is less a shark than a chicken. Dakota S This is a critically underrated shark film. I agree it doesn't break the mold but it doesn't need to it has funny celebrity cameos, goofy one liners, and a happy ending. All round good monster movie good visuals and most importantly a plausible premise. As much fun as a Shark Nato, or The Meg can be the relative scientific accuracy of this film is its strength. The Bull shark in the film isn't unnaturally massive or hyper intelligent it's just a shark that can be somewhere people don't expect a shark to be the only thing about it that isn't very realistic is the taste for human flesh but no eating people no movie. If you like shark movies like Jaws but want something a little off the beaten path this film is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family has! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Audience Member Red Water R (gore and guns) - Horror and beasts Horror Monsters Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/24 Full Review Audience Member Loved it ever since I was a kid, even though it's not a great movie. However, the decent acting, impressive shark animatronics, and fast plot make it an enjoyable time and put it miles above most made-for-television movies. The plot is simple and the script is goofy at times, but it's hard not to like Lou Diamond Phillips playing the badass role. Forget the relative lack of character development and turn off your brain to enjoy this charming monster flick. Laugh too at some quotes, because that's what TV movies are for! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/27/21 Full Review don s This is a made for cable TV movie so the production values are not high and there are obvious breaks for where commercials would be. Lou Diamond Phillips is an apt actor and Kristy Swanson looks great. The story is tepid, but there are numerous shark attacks with lots of blood effects. Not great, but not terrible for what it is. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member pretty good shark movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie had potential but failed to meet it. The shark was so fake and it had characteristics of a bull shark and a great white. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
