Kate S Different type of zombie movie, in that the infected evolve. Usual strike between protagonists. Much more violent than it needs to be to tell the story. It is structured and shot like a video game, with about the same depth of story. The origin myth is not unique and the zombies, although identified as being smarter and more organized, still fall at the same rate as other zombie movies. There is nothing new in this version. Very much more evolved than your typical low budget zombie film but still, no likable characters, pointless macho man energy, and a story that's quite unoriginal. I did enjoy that the film isn't stuck in one place; the entire time we see soldiers moving through area after area with some decent action and gore but nothing worth noting. That ending would of been so much more impactful if I actually cared about the main characters, but sadly didn't care.
