Alexandre L Better than it has any right to be. I had low expectations but it still exceeded them Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Brandon K Zombies don't have beating hearts so how is there blood spatter? Learning/remembering zombies? Really? Anyways, that's beside the point that this movie was horrible. It was like a crappy remake of Resident Evil but with more people. Poor acting with a cast of forgettable people. This movie seemed to try very hard and fail very hard. I do not recommend. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review zachary G Liked this more than what I thought, the zombies looked decent, the story of the film was good but the acting needed some work for sure Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/15/22 Full Review Audience Member If you fast forward through the killing, fighting and gore scenes, I think there is actually about 12 minutes of story in this film. It is structured and shot like a video game, with about the same depth of story. The origin myth is not unique and the zombies, although identified as being smarter and more organized, still fall at the same rate as other zombie movies. There is nothing new in this version. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review adam b It shows promise. Very much more evolved than your typical low budget zombie film but still, no likable characters, pointless macho man energy, and a story that's quite unoriginal. I did enjoy that the film isn't stuck in one place; the entire time we see soldiers moving through area after area with some decent action and gore but nothing worth noting. That ending would of been so much more impactful if I actually cared about the main characters, but sadly didn't care. It's definitely a stinker of a film but has enough attributes for genre fans to enjoy, me being one Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Exelente tipica pelicula de zombis con trama simple pero compensado con sangre y tripas. Personajes desubicados en mordeduras y transformaciones pero tiene algunos otros exelentes protagonistas, la cancion del final audio original en español estâ a toda madre. Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) The plot is the usual hokum. Rated: 2/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Cheung shows promise as a shotmaker and stager of blunt-force action. If somebody cares to arm him with a script editor and production grants, we could have a discovery of sorts on our hands. Rated: 2/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Kim Newman Empire Magazine Despite lashings of bright red gore and the obvious enthusiasm of its gibbering hordes, Redcon-1 is a hard slog. Nearly two hours of grunts vs zombies feels punitive. Rated: 1/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files The zombie movie equivalent of having a triple layer chocolate cake with fudge filling, dark chocolate icing topped with chocolate syrup. A few bites go a long way. Rated: 7/10 May 8, 2019 Full Review Andy Lea Daily Express (UK) Some of the gory comedy succeeds but too often the action scenes get lost in a fog of flashbacks and slow-motion spatters. Rated: 2/5 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Alistair Harkness Scotsman With no particular feel for plot, performance or basic technical competence, it's the Scottish Mussel of zombie movies.
