Audience Member Good acting debut from Rimes Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member There were very few people in this movie besides Burt Reynolds who could act. I used to think Billy Ray Cyrus was the worst Nashville actor there was, and he probably still is, but LeAnn Rimes is a worthy opponent for that honor. Despite the talent vacuum, it was still an enjoyable CMT original with a happy ending. Plus, there was fishing! It is a typical small-town-girl-moves-to-a-big-city-but-is-still-a-small-town-girl movie. The acting is fine - the movie would be better if I liked fishing. In "Reel Love" the main character played by LeAnn Rimes is so much smarter and so much wittier and so much more beautiful and so much more right and so much more...you get the picture. They become something that isn't real. Rimes plays a successful woman who returns to her home town when her father (Burt Reynolds) has a heart attack. It's nice for her to get away from her shallow and demanding boyfriend and renew aquaintances. There she meeting a hot mechanic who is helojbng out during a fishing frenzy in the town. The writers want you to like Rimes SO much that they make her totally unlikeable. She can do no wrong and always gets the last work, putting people in their place with just a look. How boring.
