An unscrupulous corporate lawyer, Henry Turner (Harrison Ford) will do whatever it takes to win a case, and treats his family with the same degree of ruthlessness. After Henry gets caught in the middle of a robbery and is shot in the head, he wakes from a coma to find that he has amnesia and can't even remember how to do the simplest of tasks. As he recovers and relearns how to function, Henry reveals a much kinder and more thoughtful personality, much to the surprise of his family and friends.

Regarding Lobotomies The natural progression is to then study the effects on a family of a ruthless breadwinner who receives an unexpected lobotomy. We can then brainstorm other methods that render jerks increasingly docile. Regarding Henry is a good example of a movie that basically keeps our interest yet never rises above pablum. While not 'art' or even a 'good film', this is in itself an achievement.

Strong performances by Annette Bening (always excellent) and Mikki Allen are the highlight. Harrison Ford is good but not great in this one. The rest of the supporting staff are also excellent. I would watch it again.

This movie is a fine script and brilliantly directed by Mike Nichols. Great acting ,sensitive thought provoking re the meaning of life. Very authentic. I can't imagine why anyone would give this a bad rating. Unless they haven't seen tragedies turn to gold with hard work and the right attitude. It's a classy deep thinking well paced movie in all respects.
