At the end of the movie we have been wrung out with laughter -- and with a few other things, too, because Pryor is more than a comedian in this film: He's a social commentator, and a man talking honestly about himself. Go to Full Review

There are a couple of amusing bits involving President Ronald Reagan ("Motherf***** looked at me like I owed him money"). Go to Full Review

A disappointment, especially since it's the last full-tilt concert film of the funniest man in history. Go to Full Review

Lidando com uma platia irritantemente participativa, Pryor demonstra seu domnio de palco e, atravs de monlogos reveladores, faz importantes comentrios sociais repletos de humor. Destaque para o monlogo do junkie. Go to Full Review

Taylor L 02/06/2021 "They call it an 'epidemic' now. That means white folks are doin' it. ... Maybe next time you see black people in trouble you'll help. Maybe." The last major comedy special for the legendary standup artist, Here and Now is a fascinating comparison to Pryor's older work. He's less manic, more sober, but still going for the same comedic style; it's not necessarily a step down, you just have to rectify the super high-energy coke-fueled version of the comedian you've come to know with the one you see on screen here. Pryor's greatest genius was his delivery, the ability to cuss someone out right to their face and have them laughing alongside everyone else; his comedy was profane but never really mean-spirited. Part of what drags on the performance isn't Pryor, but the audience, who by this point had come to expect heckling and Pryor's acidic responses, but do it too much and won't let the man get through his bits. Still plenty of good laughs (and prescient social commentary), but I can't call it my favorite performance from the guy. (4/5) See more 04/26/2015 extremely funny like fall on the floor laughing funny See more 01/22/2013 I guess I just don't get this material. "Here and Now" pales in comparison to Eddie Murphy's "Raw". Pryor is lively, but I didn't find his set to be that funny. See more 03/26/2012 You can see where Eddy gets his influence from. See more 02/16/2012 The funniest thing about this one was how people kept talking like crazy and interrupting his routine and he finally was like "shut the fuck up" See more 08/26/2011 Not as good as either of his previous comedy specials, but there is no such thing as bad Richard Pryor stand-up.
