Kat Halstead Common Sense Media Although it doesn't stand out as a classic, its feminist message will likely do the intended job of inspiring younger viewers to reject non-inclusive traditions and go for their dreams. Rated: 3/5 Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Roger Catlin Hartford Courant Its biggest problem is that it stars Beverley Mitchell, the most annoying cast member of "7th Heaven," whose most expressive look is crossing her eyes. Audience Member Based on the true story of Erica Enders, the first woman to compete in a junior drag racing competition Starring Beverly Mitchell of '7th Heaven' and a very young Brie Larson directed by Duwayne Dunham Erica dreams to race on the track just like her father but a majority of the racers are strictly men They don't allow girls to compete and favor more sponsorship to males Her sister Courtney also wants to follow in her footsteps but Erica has to challenge the system first But also not let the racing life interfere with her social life and school work Heck she even has to explain it takes a lot of athletic ability; it's more than just sitting behind the wheel of a car, it revolves around the g forces, having hand and eye coordination, and making sure the air in your lungs isn't compressed Erica feels it's where she belongs on the track No one wins all the time, we can't let the pressure of losing affect us every time it happens, people are slow to change, anything different frightens them, acting like you're better just because you win only cheapens yourself This has a great feminist message, two very-well cast actresses, a real authenticity of the sport itself Plus Larson and Mitchell have such ripe chemistry playing two sisters reaching for the same goal Thanks to Erica's determination her victory ensured a majority of drag racers are girls inspiring a generation of future athletes Even after attending college and graduating both of them continue to race A Disney Channel Original Movie that still succeeds 20 years later because of its terrific leads and simple but brilliant message Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A true story about two female teens making their mark in a male dominate sport is not only intriguing but so inspirational and tenacious towards the message that is being told by the outstanding performances of Beverley Mitchell & Brie Larson. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This TV movie about drag racing was great. Beverley Mitchell, Brie Larson, Jon Lindstrom, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. This true story about the Enders sisters competing in the male-dominated sport of drag racing was inspirational, dramatic, and entertaining. It's about proving to others and yourself that you can do anything no matter who you are. If you're a Disney+ member, check this movie out sometime. You'll enjoy it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A racing DCOM that depicts the rivalry of the real-life Enders sisters. It wasn't bad, but didn't impress me either.
