If Stand by Me and The Sandlot got together and made a movie.... this would be it. All the characters were great and all were amazing young actors. I liked this right from the start but when those two films started being referenced, I liked it even more.

A perfect blend of heartwarming and tear jerking and a definite must see. John Budion's directorial debut was a hit. It was wonderfully evocative. You get a glimpse of the struggle of 2 young boys living with an alcoholic and abusive father and their desperation to escape and how finding friendship, loyalty, and acceptance in a group of kids from the neighborhood was life altering. I loved watching the resilience of young John as he used art, his imagination, and infatuation with John Starks as a tool his tool for self-preservation. A testament to the survivor he is.

Woah.. what a film! Freaking love it, i'm a 90's baby so this one hits home. Seriously beautifully done from the dialogue, storyline right down to the editing. A must watch and one of my favorite films of 2020. 5 stars!!
