Nell Minow AWFJ.org Director Nancy Schwartzman knows that no commentary or condemnation could be as devastating as simply presenting us with the footage of the adults and teenagers involved in the case of the Steubenville high school football players. Oct 26, 2021 Full Review s.e. smith Bitch Media Roll Red Roll is an intense, provocative look at modern iterations of rape culture, and how becoming the home of an incredibly high-profile crime can reshape a town forever. Mar 13, 2021 Full Review Peter Rainer FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's a very powerful movie. One of the things it demonstrates is how, in our digital age, there's a trail of incrimination that exists that didn't before. Sep 27, 2019 Full Review Cate Marquis AWFJ.org Roll Red Roll is a fascinating look inside American culture's football fanaticism where it meets the power of social media in changing times. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member As soon as it became clear that the "crime blogger" was the focus of this documentary, it really went off the rails. This is far more of a PR campaign for her, and how "great" her "reporting" was then anything beneficial that may have come out of the telling of this story. Pure propaganda. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly, everyone should watch this, to learn what rape culture really is. On top of it all, it's extremely well produced and put together! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member It's infuriating how the people in this town are so blind. They believe what they want. Even the women/girls blame the victim. Men need to be held responsible for their actions. These "men" were under 18 so this won't really affect their life yet this girl's life will be affected forever. That's unfortunate. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review dave d Hardly a hard-hitting documentary, but it is eye-opening when you consider it took people with no vested interested in the town to put the truth out there for all to see. This is by no means a necessary watch, but if you have followed this case at all or are curious about it then 80 minutes out of your day should be time well spent. Final Score: 8.0/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Well that was a sad story. And the shitty part is that rape likely occurs A LOT in these kinds of situations. May be not as much in high school as in college, but it's a sad issue that usually gets swept under the rug for the betterment of the institution involved. This film does a good of showing the facts in a clear and unbiased way. It's great that the offenders as well as senior officials were held accountable for their actions but weren't the penalties awfully light? This doc did a fantastic job of making this issue black and white... there isn't much grey here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
