In the 17th century, Whelan Newport made the ultimate sacrifice as a pact with a tortured, ravenous spirit to rid the land of the last of its indigenous people and secure his family's future in colonial New Hampshire. Newport's Valley was settled on a cursed foundation. In present day, Kenzie Rhodes heads to Newport's Valley two years after tragically losing her fiancé. Bart Blakewell is trying to settle in as a new business owner in The Valley but is having a hard time fitting in, even with support from the town's polite leader, Gregory Newport. Roz Jackson is struggling to make ends meet and matters are made worse when Bart has to cut her hours at the Barn Owl Inn. A group of hikers ascends the town’s mountain, chancing upon an uncharted cave housing the ancient evil.... As a creature of nightmare wreaks havoc on Newport's Valley, the group of lonely outcasts are forced to work together, their pasts colliding with their present. All is made stranger when the mysterious Munroe appears, summoned by a family that seeks to end the monster’s reign, and revealing there is more than one monster in The Valley.

Alan Zilberman Spectrum Culture It is not such a fiasco that it can be embraced as kitsch, and still so amateurish it is never genuinely scary. Rated: 2/5 Feb 5, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Jonathan Really enjoyed this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Adam The movie was confusing at times as I don't think it was clear when a scene was in the present or past. The monster was an a-typical monster: slow and dramatic or super-human fast. Though I did find it humorous when it was revealed that the "monster killer" was having his first interaction with this type of monster. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Lex c Spooky jump scares and cheeky humor! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review heidi f Absolutely not. Don't waste your time and money. If the creators are trying to pass this as "just a fun popcorn movie" or "this movie is self-aware quirky", do not trust it. The casting, the acting, the story, the script... No creativity went into this. The only good thing was the visuals of the creature. The movie itself isn't funny, but how bad it is was. Same goes for scary. Don't support these low effort genre leeches movies. WHO approved THIS for THEATERS? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Serena A With a mix of fun, spooky, and campy themes, this movie makes for a great watch. The acting and cinematography is impressive, creating a dreary backdrop for the monster to make an impact on the audience. The backstory emotionally hooks viewers as we realize the very human truth behind how this monster is created (and how it can be tamed) as we journey through a seemingly normal small New England town that has its share of dark secrets. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Adam M An excellent "hang-out" film for a Indie Horror Creature Feature. Introduces a rag-tag cast of characters that are as well-developed as possible without slowing the pace down. You'll actually care when they meet their demise. Although 100% worth the watch, there are some flaws and limitations. If main character's story arc is not your taste, you might have a tough time. 4.5/5 - definitely worth a watch for the story alone. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
