Critics Consensus

An entertaining Jackie Chan stunt-fest in which the impressive action sequences overcome the low production value and by-the-numbers plot.

Time Out Chan's insistence on his own fallibility and vulnerability, taken with virtuoso scenes like the fight involving 101 domestic appliances, shows why he means more to his countless fans than six US action stars put together. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader It's light on plot and character, but the stunts are well staged. Jan 28, 2004 Full Review Kenneth Turan Los Angeles Times For once a film's ad line has a whiff of truth about it: 'No Fear. No Stuntman. No Equal.' Feb 13, 2001 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault The fight choreography is flat-out brilliant. It also contains some of the best scenes of a hovercraft rampaging in city traffic ever filmed. His talent for mind-blowing stunts and comic dialogue delivery were his golden tickets to a boisterous career in Hollywood. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review G M "Rumble in the Bronx" offers a barrage of adrenaline-fueled action sequences that keep the audience engaged from start to finish. Jackie Chan's impeccable physicality and daring stunts are undeniable highlights, showcasing his dedication to the craft. However, the plot feels somewhat lackluster and predictable, relying heavily on generic tropes. The characters lack depth, leaving little room for emotional investment. While the film's energy is infectious, it ultimately falls short in delivering a truly memorable story beyond its impressive martial arts spectacle. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/17/23 Full Review Kevin P It's fun with Jackie's good old stunt and humor but overall, it's an okay movie. It lacks sophistication to make it a great movie. The directing, acting, and music are just not impressive. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
