Jonathan Holland The Hollywood Reporter One of those projects that finds a story in a movie history footnote, Sad Hill Unearthed works that story up into a tale of gentle thoughtfulness and emotion. Jan 28, 2019 Full Review Jamie Healy Radio Times Brims with a life-affirming community spirit - a fitting pay-off for a film that itself was only made possible through the generosity of crowd-funding. Rated: 4/5 May 2, 2024 Full Review David Tejero Nogales El antepenúltimo mohicano The director Guillermo de Oliveira always leaves enough space for the heroes of this story to be the members of Sad Hill, or the people who make a pilgrimage to a place that is, I repeat, a time rather than a place. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Jordi Costa El Pais (Spain) The documentary abuses the interviews and is dangerously close to reporting, but its group of archeologists of the myth, with its unorthodox cinephilia of pick and shovel, seduces and moves. [Full Review in Spanish] Oct 19, 2018 Full Review Carlos Marañón Cinemanía (Spain) A small, charming documentary, careful but not pretentious. k g a brilliant documentary on the film.. a must watch for any true fan of the film and 'trilogy'. so much love and passion went into this documentary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review renaldo d Sad Hill Unearthed is very interesting, several curiosities about the movie "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY", but until now I didn't understand what the band Metallica added in the narrative of this documentary. Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef thanks for presenting this film to the world Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review s r Good to see this documented, but made out to be bigger than it really is. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A very good documentary, especially for fans of the Leone/Morricone/Eastwood westerns. Amazing what people can do when they find a passion. For my taste the film would have benefitted from much less James Hetfield, who seemed to think that the documentary was about him and his band. Other than that it holds together well and was well worth the watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
