Rancher Gene (Gene Autry) pays a visit to Brooks (Sterling Holloway), the head of the company that owns his land. Brooks is tired of his corporate duties and so aggravated by his work that he impulsively offers Gene control of the company. Gene accepts, despite the corporation's debts, but after a meeting with two corrupt board members, he's told he must raise $50,000 to keep the business alive. Meanwhile, the board members, who want the company for themselves, plot to get Gene in legal trouble.
