123leahm Same Difference is pure Nollywood gold. Jamila Jones, a successful Nollywood actress, is in an abusive relationship with her manager, Denzel. One day during a heated argument, Denzel puts Jamila out of the car, forcing her to walk home. Along the way, Jamila stops at a bookstore and meets Albert, an everyman archetype and single dad living a simple life with his young daughter, Lucy. Despite not knowing about Jamila's fame at first, Albert begins to admire her talents, but still demands that she treat him with respect despite her celebrity status when she tries to hide him away from her friends. There were so many romantic touches that were truly appreciated. Due to a mishap in the bookstore, Jamila needed a change of clothes, and Albert was able to provide her with a beautiful dress. On impulse, Jemila kisses Albert to thank him. Later, Albert tells Jamila, "you didn't just kiss my lips. You kissed my soul. You kissed my world...everything." Despite the story and the chemistry between the characters being so good, Same Difference had its technical flaws. The sudden changes in volume, out-of-place flashbacks that could barely be heard, and long conversations taking place in the native language without subtitles were noticeable. However, I didn't mind these flaws because the story and characters were so captivating. It was interesting to find out that Jamila was well-versed in the relationship self-help genre, as we discover from her trip to Albert's bookstore, where she ends up purchasing the book "Are You the One for Me" by Barbara De Angelis. Overall, Same Difference is a great romantic movie that showcases the beauty of Nollywood films. The chemistry between Jamila and Albert was a joy to watch, and the romantic touches throughout the film added an extra layer of sweetness.
