What to Know

Critics Consensus

Playing Jack Frost as an evil cross between Liza Minnelli and Liberace, Martin Short is a welcome presence, but this tired series continues drawing from its bag of bland gags and dumb slapstick.

Globe and Mail Rated: 2/4 Jun 4, 2008 Full Review Stephen Garrett Time Out Frost turns the occasion into a swag-saturated consumer orgy, which the film condemns even as it hams up product placement for Red Bull. It's not up to the first two, but it's fine for kids, and Short is terrific. Rated: C+ Jan 5, 2018 Full Review Jane Boursaw Common Sense Media Magical (if mindless) family holiday fun. Audience Member Disappointed the number 1 elf is gone and not even a mention of it in the film. Had to look up the issue. I enjoyed the 3rd installment focused on Santa struggling with family during the holidays mixed with a quick fix from the evil Jack Frost. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/24/24 Full Review Rowan C I liked this one as much as the second one but neither of them were better than the first movie. Jack Frost is the main villian of this movie who is played by Martin Short and he was pretending to be a nice guy, while the whole time he was sabotaging Christmas. Scott and Carol are expecting a baby, and Scott decides to bring Carols family to the Nort Pole pretending it is Canada. Meanwhile, Scott also brought his own family to the North Pole because Lucy really wanted to see it because her Uncle Scott is Santa Clause. Jack Frost never showed up to any of the meetings between the higher figures until this movie and he had the choice to get suspended or to help Santa around the workshop. Santa was hesitant, but he agreed and this turned out to be a huge mistake. It turned out that there was something called a Escape Claus and it had to do with Santas' special snowglobe that he kept hidden in the hall of snow globes. If Santa held this snowglobe and said, " I wish I had never become Santa at all" he would then erase all that he had accomplished during his time being Santa. This was Jack Frosts' plan all along and he actually got the snowglobe and tricked Santa into saying those words. They go back in time and Jack Frost actually ended up becoming Santa. Scott returns to a world where he never gave his family attention and learned that Jack Frost turned the North Pole into a theme park. Scott comes up with a genius plan and becomes Santa again in which he returns back to his time only a few minutes after he said those words while holding the snow globe. Santa finds out that Jack Frost froze Laurie and Neal in which he has Lucy hug him which melts all of the frost away. Jack Frost becomes nice again and just before Santa delivered his presents, Carol was in labor with their child. The movie began in the future with Carol teaching elementary kids and she told the story on how she delivered her baby with all of the crazy stuff that was going on. At the end, Santa brings in the baby and reveals that they both named the baby Buddy and the kids were just so happy to see him. Overall, the worst movie in the triology but I still liked watching this film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/23/24 Full Review Mark J I’d be tempted to give a lower score but it is ever so slightly a step up on the 2nd film, this is due mainly to Martin Short. Almost everyone else manages to forget how to act. The story resolves far too quickly, I’d have preferred less North Pole/family stuff and more It’s A Wonderful Life ramifications once Scott gives up being Santa. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review movies4granted surprisingly the best of the trilogy and the best villain. all yhe parents are still terrible. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Evan t Jack Frost is a fun new character, but the plot is just preposterous and bland. It definitely can't hold a candle to the original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Koi P The magic of Santa Clause 1 and 2 dissipates in Santa Clause 3. Not enjoyable. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
