      Critics Consensus

Saw III does little beyond repeating its predecessor's tropes on a gorier level.

Ryan B The strongest thus far in the Saw franchise. The twists, the moral conundrums, and the horrific torture scenes combine brilliantly to leave you on the edge of your seat… and occasionally jumping behind it to hide. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review jace d No bites On this tomato 🍅 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Thomas K This third chapter had no atmosphere of suspense and synthetic character. The plot went out of rhythm and the acting atmosphere was indecent. This John Kramer represents the symbol of salvation and obstacles, with a little goodness. I have never liked Amanda because of her strong, unpleasant and murderous character. The only thing I liked about this film are the flashbacks, which talks about how Amanda became the discreet and ruthless part of John Kramer. This movie has a slow and boring intro of random people dying and the ending disappointed me. The only thing I liked about the film are the traps which definitely surpass the second film. I liked the angel trap, ditto for the rib cage one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Jr B I give this movie a 8.0!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review George X Now what to add for Saw lll it's great in every way better than the Saw ll but all the Saw movies linking together, it's not just a horror franchise it's a masterpiece among Batman and more, we need movies like that (my opinion i wish Texas Chainsaw Massacre & Saw could go on forever) but this days we get barbie 🤣🤬😤 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Lain L This is easily my favorite movie in the Saw series. Love the iconic angel trap of course!! :3 SPOILERS!!! The idea of the man wanting revenge for the death of his son and those in the traps are all connected to his son makes it so good because he needs to learn the lesson of forgiving. Also, the plot twist of the doctor Lynn being his wife and she gets shot and then he kills John and then gets killed was just baffling. I ended up crying because DAMN that was a good movie. Now for the highlight: oh my god the trap where his limbs get twisted has to be the best trap in the series. I physically cringed hearing the noises and that guy did an incredible job at expressing his pain and I'm not easily disturbed by things but I couldn't even laugh in that situation cause damn. I have a lot more good things to say about this movie but my brain juice is running out and i xant reallt word things rifht so om fonna go kow bye Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Jordan Crucchiola New York Magazine/Vulture The third movie doesn't go over the edge, but it does start to feel like John is setting his subjects up to fail, and the game shouldn't be rigged quite so hard if he really wants people to walk the path of redemption. Oct 27, 2017 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International Staying mostly faithful to the successful blueprint of its two earlier installments, Saw III is an adequate sequel that works well enough on its own terms. Jul 23, 2008 Full Review Brian Tallerico UGO One of the most sadistic, brutal, grisly films of the current splatter-porn genre. Mar 24, 2007 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review How can Jigsaw possibly think he or his undertaking has achieved anything with such a low success rate? He would do better by looking at the numbers, realizing he's doing more harm than good, and trying a new approach. I wish these films would do the same Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Shaun Munro Flickering Myth Saw III neatly concludes the original trilogy of films while providing an off-ramp for the ridiculous glut of sequels to follow. Rated: 3.5/5 May 20, 2021 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News I don't have a problem with uncomfortable violence if it comes in a film that's at least remotely entertaining, which this movie is not. This installment is lazy, coasting on everything that made the first two films so popular. Nov 20, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
