Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault After a promising start, the film gets way pretentious and hard to sit through. For horror completists and die-hard Stone fans only. Rated: B- Aug 30, 2022 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a trainwreck that couldn't possibly be less indicative of Stone's subsequent career... Rated: 1/4 Jan 22, 2020 Full Review J.C. Maçek III PopMatters Stone does a fine job of keeping the mysteries of the story firmly in the realm of the unknown. Rated: 6/10 Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Stone would go on to become a filmmaking icon, but he had to start somewhere. After watching the clumsiness of Seizure, it's amazing he ever received a second shot at directing. Rated: C Sep 27, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Good T A time capsule of 70s subversive horror. Does it stand the test of time? No, but it really doesn't need to. The whole time i watched it, I wondered if the premise scared Stephen King… Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Audience Member Terrible. So bad it is sort of worth it though. Herve Villechaize terrorizes a party of well to do losers including the guy who played Barnabas Collins on 70's TV. Soundtrack has some moments crossing classic porn music and Throbbing Gristle. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a little bit hard to describe. It's about a writer who is plagued by nightmares and during a supposed weekend get together at his lake house, three villains from his dream come to life. They wreak havoc on the writer's mind and the people staying for the weekend. There's a big twist at the end which I did like because it made some of what I saw make sense, but that didn't still answer some of the questions I still have. This may need a 2nd or 3rd viewing. What got me to finally get around to watching this was Oliver Stone. This was his very first movie and it shows. It's not his best by far, but it's nice to see where he started from and there were some interesting moments. The acting was good, but I think the casting of Herve Villechaize (who played on Fantasy Island) made this movie look more like a comedy then a horror movie. Seeing a little midget running around with a knife just isn't very threatening to me. Still there were some interesting moments and the ending was a nice twist. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member By far Stones least impressive effort. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Oliver Stone's first film is an unlikely beginning to one of the most impressive filmmaking careers in history.
