Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News Most fictional films simply can't capture the immediacy of the experience the way a raw chronicle like this one, from director Kristian Fraga and 1st Lt. Mike Scotti, does. Rated: 3/4 Mar 16, 2010 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Puts you in the boots of a Marine fighting in Iraq in 2003. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 12, 2010 Full Review Kyle Smith New York Post Much of this footage might have been illuminating, even fascinating, in 2003. But seven years on, it's ancient history lacking insight, hindsight or a fresh take. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 12, 2010 Full Review Vadim Rizov Filmmaker Magazine Adding a strong narrative and profanely honest voiceover viewers can take as understandable, disturbingly self-indicting or both, Severe Clear is an uncomfortably watchable war diary. Jan 24, 2023 Full Review Sara Maria Vizcarrondo Boxoffice Magazine A handful of real Iraqis were shown, bodies destroyed by explosion and gunfire--and, in the end, what I'm calling this movie is entertaining. That's no tidy proposition. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 17, 2010 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Finds just the right balance between entertaining the audience and provoking them emotionally as well as intellectually. A very appropriate companion piece to The Hurt Locker. Rated: 8.5/10 Mar 11, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

David C Different generation...different war. Same Marine Corps (USMC 1965-1969). From my perspective, best film representation of what it is like to be a Marine in a combat situation. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review Audience Member Great 1st person, legit film. You follow real life Marines and their problems day in and day out. What I wanted to give props on was that they did not hold anything back. If you CANNOT handle swearing, death - basically what a soldier sees, hears, says, and fears - then I would not even begin to consider this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member it was an amazing movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing new here. Bush and his gang should be trailed for crimes against humanity. End of story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member I was glued from start to finish. Most of us aren't aware of what we send our soldiers into when they went to Iraq. Sending our young men into a battle that some of us don't agree with, but not trying to make a political statement. Awesome! It makes you wonder, what happened to these Marines? Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Released in Australia as 'This Is War', this is the real life Jarhead. Interesting, confronting and real. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
