SkyRo P Shattered Glass is a Golden Globe–nominated film that stars Hayden Christensen as Stephen Glass, a young journalist who finds success writing for a high-profile magazine. His career skyrockets as he produces a stream of remarkable stories — but it soon becomes clear that many of those stories were entirely fabricated in order to advance his own reputation. The film is based on true events and follows the real-life scandal that unfolded when it was discovered that Glass made up much of his reporting. It’s a character-centric story that focuses on deception, ethics, and the pressure journalists face in a competitive industry. Overall, I liked Shattered Glass. It’s a decent film — not one I’d rush back to watch again, mainly because it’s heavy on dialogue and light on action. But that’s something you should expect going in; this isn’t a thriller with dramatic set-pieces — it’s a slow, deliberate story about fraud and the people it affected. It’s worth a watch once, especially if you’re interested in true stories about media and ethics, but it’s not a film I’d revisit frequently. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Audience Member Interesting moments, but not as compelling as I would have hoped. Needed a bit more punch to be worthy of a movie. I thought the two leads did a good job, Christensen was really good. But it was more of a slow burn that never got very bright. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/05/25 Full Review Alex C This movie is what separates the bis*xuals from the g*ys and l*sbians. Happy Pride, H*yden enjoyers! 😁🫶 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Evan V Amazing performances and a compelling story of drama between a young writer and his insecurities of story making. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Farah R Shattered Glass benefits from solid writing and brilliant acting. Its story revolves around a fascinating incident in journalism that’s worthy of a biopic. If only it was explored more thoroughly so that Glass’ motives were clear. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Gregory T Solid ensemble cast and interesting story, but I thought the plot and its ending should have been a lot more developed and followed through.
