Well-made, informative, but rather sad documentary about Judy Garland's life with all "narration" taking the form of people speaking about Judy at the time, Judy speaking herself, or the words of her husband. Sid Luft. Many performances, and some revealing outtakes.

After so many other documentaries and books, I didn't think there was much more to learn about Garland. Wow! I was surprised with "Sid and Judy." Through Luft's and Garland's own words, accompanied by new film footage and photos, this documentary further illustrates why Garland still is so loved.

There's plenty of inside dirt on the show business luminary known as Judy Garland here, and most of it truly like a train ride to Auschwitz, inexorably depressing because you know how it's going to end. But two significant gems shine through, making this feature must-see: one is the exceptional, undeniable talent for which she is well known. The other, not so well known, is the uncanny will that put it all out there - a once in a lifetime marvel to experience and most certainly at the heart of her enduring popularity. To see her dig deep into the well of her psyche and pull up chunks of golden glory, it's a sight indeed.

By far the ultimate Judy Garland doc. Rare footage, new audio and lots of Judy Judy Judy. If there was any doubt that this was the greatest entertainer of all time you can erase it after watching this.
