Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard The big-screen Simpsons are mildly entertaining, but too much of this is as flabby as Homer's belly. Aug 2, 2015 Full Review Christopher Orr The New Republic There were plenty of decent jokes, but I've already forgotten most of them; I suspect within a month's time I'll be hard pressed to recall much about the movie at all beyond a vague sense of disappointment. Aug 2, 2015 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) It's very well written and, as I say, it's consistently funny. Rated: 4/5 Aug 2, 2015 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins In its long-awaited moment in the limelight, the film can't manage to present itself as much more than a couple of regular episodes tied together. Rated: 5/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News I'm not sure if this film will draw that many new fans, but the millions who can't get enough of Homer, Bart, Marge, Maggie and Lisa in first-run or syndication will surely be pleased with this latest venture. Nov 21, 2019 Full Review Mattie Lucas The Dispatch (Lexington, NC) This is not a movie so much as a series of loosely connected punchlines. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 5, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Beavis C I liked the part when Homer ate that apple. Favorite scene. Great camerawork. When I was 7 or 8 years old, I watched this a little bit way before I even watched the series! It was like my very first Simpsons experience! Now that I watched the whole movie, it’s good. The series is good as well. Ned would’ve been a great dad to Bart. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/20/25 Full Review Time P Pretty good in my opinion. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review Elias L. Great movie. A lot of references Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/25 Full Review Riley S. After nearly two decades of iconic TV episodes, The Simpsons Movie manages to do the impossible: capture the chaotic charm, biting satire, and heartfelt core of the series in a tight, hilarious 90-minute package. The stakes are higher (the actual end of Springfield), the animation is crisper, and somehow, even after all this time, the jokes still land like it’s 1991. Homer’s stupidity reaches glorious new heights, Marge gets her emotional spotlight (and delivers that heartbreaking VHS monologue), and Bart… well, Bart shows us way more than we asked for. The movie balances absurdity and sincerity better than most modern comedies. And the Alaska detour? Surprisingly cozy. Sure, it’s a little safe at times — but it’s also the rare TV-to-movie transition that works, and works well. For longtime fans, it’s like watching your dysfunctional yellow family graduate to the big screen — and somehow, they don’t screw it up. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go apologize to my pig.
