When single dad David (Bill Bixby) meets divorcée Vicki (Dee Wallace-Stone), they fall madly in love, and marriage soon follows. Their only concern is that their teenage children, Tim (Dermot Mulroney) and Jenny (Megan Follows), will not get along. Much to their parents' dismay, not only do Tim and Jenny hit it off, they end up falling in love. This unexpected development creates tension within their new home and enrages Vicki's ex-husband, Andy (James Naughton), who finds the situation immoral.
