Of course it could have been gritter but for skimming the surface of alcholism and putting a nice spin on things it wasn't that bad. The ending did throw me and confused me, thought it made the film a little too full circle. The breif moments when Jill Scott was finally allowed to show some acting was quite enjoyable and made me wish there were more moments like this.
