Angelo p I found it was much better than expected… an impossible task to live up to the original… but still a fun goof to knock back a couple of beers to. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Me This is one of the original bad sequels that gave all sequels a bad name. This movie has none of the charm and fun of the original. Even the actors seem to be going through the motions and give a vibe of not wanting to do this movie. Sally Field even walks out of this movie right in the middle…both her character and her as an actress. I hated this movie and couldn't even finish watching it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun continuation of a great story Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/12/22 Full Review Matt F A true hilarious old school movie that can delight older and younger audiences alike Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review ClassicGuy57 This movie fails to continue the fun of the first. It is a terrible sequel to such an iconic movie. This movie should've continued after the end of the first (with the chowder run from Boston). Burt Reynolds didn't play Bandit the same. Sally Field played a bit of a bitchy character. Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason were still the same, which was good (even with Jackie Gleason playing Buford's brothers). Overall, I don't recommend it. Gary Arnold Washington Post ... a premeditated embarrassment. Oct 4, 2017 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times How can I say it's lazy when it has 50 trucks doing stunts in it? Because it takes a lot less thought to fill up a movie with stunts than to create a comedy that's genuinely funny. Rated: 1/4 May 5, 2008 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …misses out on almost everything that made the first film so appealing… Rated: 1/5 Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Like most sequels, it's not as good as the original, but like the original, it's best enjoyed as a slice of nostalgia for a time of CB radios, ludicrous vehicle chases, and even more ludicrous storylines.
