Burl Ives singing is wonderful. Lots of action, great acting, and good story with valuable lessons to be learned about people and animals. Suitable for all ages. I enjoyed seeing him perform a couple of songs on screen, but there wasn't much to the rest of the film if I am being honest even as much as I like Fred MacMurray. Narrarated through-out, like it's a book being read. Has a couple quaint moments but just isn't that impactful. Also, not really a western in my books due to taking place in the 30s. You're not going to see any gunfighting action here.
