Three orphan boys dream of living in paradise in this Japanese film that's part live action and part anime. To achieve that dream, Nishiyama (Takeshi Kaneshiro) leads his friends, anime fan Fujimoto (Masanobu Andô) and the silent Takamura (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), into a bank robbery that's immediately botched by a silent alarm. Even as the bank is surrounded by police, the boys take hostages who, rather than try to escape, discover empathy for their three captors.

Audience Member An interesting flick 'bout a heist and strange bedfellows, deeply embroided in otaku subculture, funny but unashamed of taking the foulest twist toward melancholy in the last ten minutes, coherent with japanese belief that life is sad, no matter how loud you laugh.
