Nadira Goffe Slate Twinless isn’t what you might expect it to be. It’s much more normal, and therefore much more haunting, than that. Sep 10, 2025 Full Review Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times Though O’Brien is flexing his emotional range here, his hunky sincerity lands in part because Sweeney remains steady in the opposite registry. Sep 5, 2025 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com Just trust me when I say that it’s extremely clever and full of surprises, and reinforces that writer, director, and co-star James Sweeney is a bold and refreshing filmmaker to watch. Rated: 3.5/4 Sep 5, 2025 Full Review Pat Bulfamante The MontyVerse (YouTube) It’s a tale about loss, codependence, identity and honesty — but beyond all that, it’s a brilliantly executed dark comedy elevated by thoughtful cinematography and powerful performances from its two leads. Rated: 4.5/5 Nov 6, 2025 Full Review Filipe Freitas Always Good Movies What might have been an incisive exploration of grief and identity instead collapses into triviality, half-serious and half-baked. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 3, 2025 Full Review Nicholas Bell Fish Jelly Films (YouTube) An emotionally morbid but eventually poignant dramedy swirling together identity issues predicated on gaslighting, fidelity, and grief, director James Sweeney and the double duty from Dylan O'Brien makes Twinless a dark hearted pleasure.
