Critics Consensus

Harnessing sick suspense from the glimmer in James McAvoy's eye, Speak No Evil is the rare remake that hushes up concerns of "been there, done that."

Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) As a fan of the original, I really think this did it justice and added a new twist and made its own film. Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Kristy Puchko Mashable If you've never savored the blood and bite of a steak, this processed remake will probably serve just fine. Sep 19, 2024 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Speak No Evil eventually goes full-on with the familiar horror movie blood-spattering, but the social satire in that well-executed build-up is the real strength of the film. Rated: 3/4 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Terry Staunton Radio Times Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy are almost as impressive in roles that require considerably more subtlety, although each member of the small ensemble cast is a significant component to a genuinely unsettling film. Rated: 4/5 Oct 4, 2024 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu A rare psychological horror film that quietly chills to the bone without too much gore or creep chords, while cleverly relying on the implied and imagination to effectively do the heavy lifting Oct 4, 2024 Full Review MontiLee Stormer MovieReelist.com Speak No Evil is no better or worse than any other American thriller where the hardest future the characters face is therapy. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 3, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Chad T James McAvoy was fantastic, but there were a few parts of the movie that could have moved along a little faster. You can basically see the end coming, but it still has some good action and suspense. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Elijah Solid movie. Good acting. Only downside was the writing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Kristen Movie was great. Only real complaint is that the suspense part was rather short. The movie took a lot of time developing characters. Would definitely watch again though. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Demetrius B Excellent cast and story line Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Ihor Story development too long by the time you get to the action the movie is over. Not worth it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Teresa My husband and I enjoyed the suspense! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Read all reviews
