Critics Consensus

A visually stunning film that may be too predictable and politically correct for adults, but should serve children well.

When the movie wants to look majestic, the colors truly emanate, but when it wants to look grim, it can look very grim and moody; I was breath taken. Go to Full Review

Cenny 4 @KenTan 1d This was a fun movie again by DreamWorks! I really enjoyed the movie even though the horses were just neighing and didn’t talk much. The neighing got a little annoying towards the end, but I was glad that the animators made sure that we knew what emotions and thought the horses were conveying through their facial expressions and body language. I also admire the horse Spirit’s undying passion for freedom and independence. The characters were all endearing and well made, and I enjoyed each and every interaction! The love story was also fun to watch, though Rain’s departure from her previous lifestyle didn’t sit quite right with me. I understand that all horses in that movie loves to run free, but I think in an environment like Rain’s, coexisting with humans doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. I wished the film had a more nuanced opinion about free horses vs captive horses. But I loved the movie! DreamWorks magic is pretty amazing See more Josiah C @JosiahCosgrove May 3 Up there with The Prince of Egypt and The Wild Robot. Beautiful cinematography, writing and directing.
