Audience Member This is one of most stupidly written and boring action movies I've seen in a long, long time! Morbidly obese World War II veteran witnesses a murder at his local cafe and helps the police investigating the murder by selecting one of the perpetrators out of a police lineup. For some very dumb, inexplicable reason (which is why this movie TOTALLY sucks), the criminal is released the very next day and begins a violent assault on the cafe. The cafe owner under physical duress then tells the murderer the name and address of the of the morbidly obese World War II eyewitness. The murderer and his thug friends then decide to assault the World War II veteran's house and the fatso veteran fights them off and becomes the neighborhood hero. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Steve D No idea how they roped this cast into this crap. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Audience Member 60s something WWII veteran getting messed w by 1980s latinx/black gangs solves problem w a few guns w a lot of bullets is one my favorite 80s movie tropes. Pam Grier is low key great. i watched a bunch of her films & she is good in every role. the best part of the movie are the cocaine cowboys(Mexican gang) & they got last billing in credits even behind the diner customers who had no lines. this was filmed in 1980s Texas. most of the MAGA ppl i know were in their teens/20s when this was made that tells me the time they want to bring back is the 1980s. which is kind of funny in a stupid way but their further right counterparts want something way more sinister. for ppl that don't know wht ppl they pretty much seem the same but it's really important to know the difference. unless you prefer to be angry w wht ppl. anyways that's what watching stuff like this is good for perspective. it's a huge plus that i love violent movies. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member WWII vet faces off with street gang members after witnessing a murder and helping police. Some similarities with later film Gran Torino but not on the same level. Favourite scene would be the attempted donut theft. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member the story of a real american hero. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Jungle warfare in 1943 South Pacific proves merely a testing ground for one proud veteran compared to his suburban Los Angeles neighbourhood in the mid-80s. I knew Durning was all business when he hung the American flag proudly on his front porch. Riveting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
