Radheyan Simonpillai NOW Toronto Explanations about black holes and spectral light are neat, but these guys really get deep on their relationship to life, death and each other. Rated: 4/5 Feb 12, 2016 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian It finds an extraterrestrial strangeness or majesty in the American wilderness ... Rated: 4/5 Nov 20, 2015 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Star Men is a quirky, sweet and deceptively moving documentary about four pioneering British astronomers. Rated: 4/5 Nov 20, 2015 Full Review Matthew Anderson CineVue Whilst a 90-minute documentary on old astronomers may sound a tad dry to the uninitiated, Rose's subjects are each charming in their own way and their retelling of a life dedicated to the study of the very big picture is told with an admirable humility. Rated: 3/5 Apr 8, 2019 Full Review Chris Knight National Post Clambering over rocks, these hale explorers are reminiscent of Apollo astronauts, similarly aged but healthy. Certainly their contributions to our understanding of our universe are no less. Rated: 3.5/4 Feb 20, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Movie makre should not have been part of the movie and her narration was amateur. The remaining part of the movie was charming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This is such a wonderful and charming film - it had a profound effect on me. Following the reuniting of four exceptional but now elderly astronomers after many years, this documentary is a moving tale of old friendships and strong characters. Much, much more than a film about astronomers and their field of work, this is a film about perseverance, determination and mortality. It is incredibly thought-provoking, sad and funny throughout. Beautifully conceived and directed with some stunning photography. Highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
