The movie is for everybody but maybe not for young people because there are a few violence scenes. The story takes place in London in 1912. The subject of "Suffragette" is the fight for the votes of women, but also the freedom and the equality between men and women. For me, the musics and the pictures are perfect because creating an atmosphere of suspense. I liked this film because shows the fight of women during the 19th century . But, I don't liked the end because it is sad, we did not see the victory of the vote in 1918. I recommend it because we learn more about british history. See more Le H 09/25/2023 Suffragette is a movie directed by a woman : Sarah Gavron and created by women for all the world (maybe not for young children because of violent scenes). This is a drama and a historical movie. It tells part of the fight for the women rights. The scene takes place in London in 1912, the main character Maud Watts joins the fight to obtain the right to vote. They are women of all social classes but they all have the same objective : equality between men and women. First, women will fight peacefully but they are not listened to so they revolt with violence at the peril of women who lose everything. Suffragette is a captivating, demonstrative and maybe affective movie. The settings are realistic, the cast is very good and the music comes always a the good moment. I recommend it. See more Enora L 09/25/2023 I had a wonderful time watching this movie, I'd definitely recommend it! The cast held the movie with great acting performances. Carey Mulligan is perfect for her role: a working class young mother who discovers that she can fight for her rights in society. Just like in Titanic, the characters are both fictional and historical (Emmeline Pankhurst or Emily Davison). The shots' colors might seem dull but it represented quite well the vibe of the early 1910's. The way the scenes are shot completely transports us into the events. The point of view is even more interesting and accurate because the movie was directed, produced and written by women, and the cast is mainly composed of women. See more Read all reviews
