Romey Norton Film Focus Online With its mix of laughter, melancholy, and resilience, Rosenfeld’s latest film is a fitting tribute not just to Il Posto Accanto but to every restaurant that fought to keep its doors open through impossible times. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 26, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Adam M This is the kind of movie that, lamentably, seldom gets made these days: atmospheric without being slow, deeply in tune with the rhythms of New York City, attuned to the inner lives of its characters, dramatic but still funny. Consummate New Yorker and celebrated stage actor and playwright Danny Hoch is captivating, masterful and hilarious in the lead – a reminder that he's one of the great actors of his generation, and criminally undercast in films. Victor Rasuk is equally charming, and Seth Zvi Rosenfeld's script and camera know how to to play to all their strengths. This is a special, special film that deserves a wide audience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/06/25 Full Review sara B Sunday at Il Posto Accanto encapsulates exactly the familial and familiar of a neighborhood and it’s restaurants. New York is a village and it took a village to keep amazing small businesses open just like Bea and Julio’s incredible restaurant. The humor, the inside jokes, the locals, the actors. All part of a beautiful tribe. Well written, smartly directed! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/06/25 Full Review K W A lovely, low keyed, nicely paced day in the life of a NYCity restaurant - special cinematography, superb acting. accessible script. A delight. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/05/25 Full Review Lyn C This bittersweet slice-of-life film reminds us of the harrowing time the world shared as we were coming out of the Covid pandemic. It follows several stories that dovetail in a natural way. By the end, it feels as though one has spent the evening at a beloved local joint with wine, music, laughter, pathos and friends.
