Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy Don't expect grand animation or a compelling storyline, but if you're open to its weird atmosphere it is definitely good for a laugh. Audience Member A very interesting Japanese-style cartoon movie. However, one downside is that Ancient Rome is not such a big country. The ancient Romans committed a lot of sexual assaults against women. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review arianna b For being a Japanese production, the movie is very well done. Maybe the possibility of using the Cinecitta' set of Rome has helped a lot, but the atmosphere is great both when the characters is in the Ancient Rome and in modern Japan. The first part of the movie is almost exactly following the manga, keeping the tone very hilarious and the story limited to some episodes. Possibly, the plot has been changed to give an immediate love story, but the differences with the manga fits partially the movie, dropping the tempo and lacking the crunch that instead one can taste in the first part. Anyway, to be watched if one has read the manga, but I would not recommend it just for the sake of watching it instead. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A roman architect can travel to modern Japan when submerged in water. He uses what he sees to upgrade the baths in Rome. It has some funny parts that get laughs, but it's mostly an enjoyable, bizarre trip. How can we save Rome? With an onsen, of course! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Unfortunately, it's an ugly movie with a weak script writing. What a pity! Aya Ueto is so cute, and Hiroshi Abe is... ok. The manga is better. Although you appreciate the trash value, the movie is something according to that point of view only for the first half hour. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Sweet, silly, fun time travel romance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It's not because I'm from Rome, but please..... it's not comic or funny and the actors are terrible...
