Alain E A more accurate title would have been, Men, good or no good die young. Or, don’t even think of robbing the UK Postal Service. The main attraction of the movie is the buildup and then the aftermath of the robbery. We get acquainted in some detail with the four protagonists and their significant others. The characters are described well and there is nice black and white photography. The robbery itself shows the poor state of British criminals. Totally disorganized. But the main objective of the film is human interactions. Women, even when they committed adultery, suffer no consequences while the men die on the street, the railroad tracks or the airport tarmac. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/30/25 Full Review Aldo G Wow! Joan Collins was absolutely gorgeous. The entire cast works well together in this crime picture that details the motivations behind each of the four men trying to make a fortune. Worth your time if you're a noir-genre lover from that period. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad for the time it was made and the likely budget. Nice to see a young and beautiful Joan Collins long before "Dynasty" as well as the actress who played "Violet" in "It's a Wonderful Life." Also "Admiral Nelson" not dealing with some totally bogus undersea monster. Implausible ending but of course in movies of the era, Crime Doesn't Pay. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member good British B movie. a group of down and outs hold up a post office when things go wrong Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Rather stodgy British heist film that wants to be a tough, scrappy noir like Stanley Kubrick's "The Killing". Laurence Harvey and Gloria Grahame almost elevate the rather turgid film, but despite the stellar cast and being directed by future James Bond director, Lewis Gilbert, the film fails to be either exciting or suspenseful. Stylistically, it's a well crafted film, but the overall experience is pretty blah. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member so so psychological crime yarn Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
