Chris M I'm so glad the MCU was right after this because this was a disappointment. The army major was more like Thunderbolt Ross, more interested in locking Tony up than looking for any other possibility. Plus why was the army even involved, sounds more like SHIELD's jurisdiction. Plus having the Mandarin a literal demon instead of a human with powerful rings is the dumb. But it has lots of good point, enough to say it is good. Even if that margin is just barely in the good just a hair from Meh. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/19/22 Full Review robert p Not the best animated movie to introduce Iron Man!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member While it has better animation than the Doctor Strange movie, has some moments of awesomeness, a decent-enough premise and serviceable voice acting, The Invincible Iron Man is a pretty bad entry in the Marvel Animated Features. The CGI for the mechanical character models is quite hit-and-miss, there isn't a lot of action even by origin story standards and it is dragged down by a romance between Tony Stark and an original character created for this movie where they're utterly lacking in the chemistry department. To say nothing of some of the questionable changes from the source material such as Howard Stark remaining alive and well and Pepper Potts is a middle-aged woman with a Transatlantic accent for some reason. Seeing how this was one of the few solo adaptations out there for the then-B-list superhero, it's understandable why those who saw this movie probably wouldn't be persuaded otherwise that the then-upcoming live-action film that kickstarted one of the biggest franchises of the past decade was decidedly NOT doomed to crash and burn at the box office. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie and it's absolutely underrated. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Its not bad for an animated - its pretty good for what the story was, which is not taken from any comic story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Very poor Marvel animation, I've never read a Marvel comic as it's DC all the way in my house but I know allot of back stories and origin stories for Marvel and this didn't work at all as it focused more on a silly side plot about an ancient Chinese curse or something like that and it really took the shine off the origin story but even that felt rushed in this overlong film, The animation felt weird at times and the action wasn't anything great, The voice cast were very dull and there was not one bit of humour and that didn't help at all, It's overlong, Dull and not worth a second watch.
