Audience Member Fabulous music by Weill interpreted by Nick Cave, P.J. Harvey, Mary margaret O'Hara and many other brilliant artists. William S. Burroughs recites "What Keeps Mankind Alive?" Loved it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member A tribute-performance driven documentary not too unlike "Standing In The Shadows of Motown", but artier, less conversational and with Lou Reed's searing cover of September Song. The CD soundtrack from this film is a keeper. It's main flaw is that it doesn't fill in the details of Weill's life so if you're looking for a biopic, this isn't it. But the performances are wonderful and the visuals beautifully composed that by the end this viewer felt compelled to explore Kurt Weill's life and music on my own time. And really, that's the sign of a good film. Also, there were two edited versions released one for Canadian TV featuring Mary Margaret O'Hara and one for the US TV which did not.
