Derek Smith Slant Magazine As The Accountant 2 drags out to over two hours, and its two storylines remain tonally at war with one another, it becomes increasingly clear that, two films in, this series still hasn’t figured out exactly what it wants to be. Rated: 2/4 Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Jordan Hoffman Entertainment Weekly It’s a little different from the first one, but who’s counting? Rated: B Apr 15, 2025 Full Review Kristen Lopez The Film Maven (Substack) When the movie is about two brothers struggling to relate to the outside world and each other it’s heartfelt, it’s fun to watch, and it’s funny as hell. It helps that stars Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal have such a strong chemistry between them. Rated: C Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Robert Kojder Flickering Myth It’s not good that The Accountant 2, ostensibly an action-based crime mystery, is usually only entertaining when it’s less concerned with serious-minded plotting and more about goofing off Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 19, 2025 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews The Accountant 2 thrives on the brotherly chemistry between Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. It’s a wildly entertaining sequel that brings a lighter, more playful tone to the franchise and it totally works. Rated: B+ Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The shared moments between Affleck and Bernthal are the highlight of the storytelling, both effectively stealing the scenes from each other. While there are touching beats within the plot, the story as a whole struggles to understand its identity. Rated: 3/5 Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews
