Jason W Pretty good special effects make up. Some good creepy parts but also a few silly comedic scenes that seem out of place and more akin to a PG kids comedy movie. Otherwise, not a bad watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/20/24 Full Review Yuri F You guys are nuts. This is a good movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Felix R Now on Tubi! Flawed but original. Phyllis Diller appears as a cranky night receptionist at the morgue, and she's why I don't hesitate to recommend this straight-to-video curiosity from 1991. Norman Fell, from Three's Company, apparently embarrassed, attempts to hide behind a huge fake mustache. His performance is so bland, he practically succeeds, but Phyliss Diller is just dead-on perfect and I intend to check her IMDB page for B horror films. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Steve D Funnier than it is scary. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Totally took me by surprise. This is one that flew way under the radar, but it's a really unique, funny little horror flick. Makes the best out of its trappings and comes out as a really fun time. Surprisingly good acting too. Who doesn't want to see Zombie kids and a giant mutant poodle...?! Thank you 88 films and Code Red for bringing this back to the light. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/18 Full Review Audience Member I have no idea how to react to this movie. It's both one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and one of the most unwatchable pieces of trash that I've ever watched. I'm left wondering if this is a horror comedy or not. There are plenty of things that seem to indicate that it's meant to be comedy, like poodle monsters and Phyllis Diller as Miss Poopinplatz. Yet, so much of the movie is shot and presented like a legitimate horror movie meant to elicit scares. To complicate matters even further, it is so low budget and horrible made that it's hard to even begin to imagine what the filmmakers were even going for. It's all just a puzzle. I don't even quite know what it was even about. There are dead children in a morgue that are actually demons that look like miniature versions of the monsters from Demon Knight, and they're supposed to be kept in check by an ancient Chinese family or something. It really didn't make much sense. There's a psychic trying to figure out what happened to the dead children, and then everyone is locked in the morgue and it becomes basic zombie 101. The monsters look okay, sometimes genuinely creepy, sometimes horrible cheap looking, and sometimes attempting to play for laughs. As a midnight creature feature, it actually wouldn't be so bad, but it just takes too long for the movie to get going. The set up alone takes 45 minutes. They linger on shots unnecessarily long and the whole thing feels amateurish. Speaking of amateurish, oh my god the sound in this movie is horrific. It sounds like the sound design was done by a high schooler with no prior knowledge of microphones, foley sound, and ADR. Sound effects sound like crumpled paper, white noise cuts in and out, and levels are all over the map. It nearly kills the movie right from the beginning. This is a really bad movie, but it's so hard for me to completely dismiss it too. I can't think of any other movies off the top of my head where the climax of the movie is an obese woman blowing up a poodle monster... twice. For that, this movie deserves some recognition. It sort of reminds me of The Suckling, a just abhorrent mess of a movie that still somehow fascinates me. I would recommend this to friends if only to see the reactions they would have when watching it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
