Audience Member A basically interesting plot ruined by amateurish performances and horrible ever present music. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Over all, the plot is intriguing, but the ending is a let down. The title fits the story but also foreshadows the disappointment engendered by the movie itself. As thrillers go, it should not be described as taught. The movie is burdened by pedestrian script with some clunky lines and slow, repetitive pacing, especially early on when it counts. The acting is mostly fair. The unambitious villain turns out to be a mushy character whose unspeaking henchmen are a lot scarier than he is. There is a scene where Liz (played by Wendy Zavaleta) realizes her business is going under. She reacts to the news emotionally. I thought, afterward, hey that was pretty good acting. Then I realized: there was no dialog. (Even if you can act, it isn't easy when you have to say bad lines.) Another good performance comes from Rodger Boyce as a retired sheriff. He only has one scene but he plays an old male chauvinist s.o.b. memorably. If he had two more scenes he would have completely stolen the movie. The casting is weird. Half of the cast looks like they are refugees from a Stephen J. Cannell look-a-like contest. I have never seen so many graying goatees and Van Dykes in one place. From the first scene, I knew immediately that this is a B-movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
