Audience Member Good, not great, L&H, with a few singing sequences featuring Dennis King. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member a few laughs but nothing gr8 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Has its moments, but mostly didn't work for me. Random plot, with overly-farcical performances from Laurel and Hardy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member James Finlayson, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy and others make a hilarious comedy, which seems unfortunately a bit pointless. A lot of scenes with Laurel and Hardy are memorable (like when Stan is ordered to hang Ollie by the bandit Fra Diavolo) and indeed the movie's foundation. Attempt at mixing musical with Laurel & Hardy is not entirely successful in my opinion, and the storytelling is slacking. Other than that, a very enjoyable comedy and standard Laurel and Hardy! Pare Lorentz Vanity Fair It is funny enough, and simple enough, to amuse you; more important, it is in the tradition of old-time movie comedy, of the stuff we used to get from Chaplin and Fairbanks. May 16, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
