Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express ...there’s enough tension, despite the occasional chest-thumping and the flag-waving and the basic story-telling, to keep us with the film. Rated: 2.75/5 Apr 2, 2025 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare The Diplomat might not be for the “bang, boom, pow” crowd, but for those looking for a diplomatic thriller that dials down the violence and cranks up the tension, it's worth a watch. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 17, 2025 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com The possibilities of this serviceable thriller are immense but the makers prefer to play it safe and hold back the daredevil in the diplomat's clothing. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 17, 2025 Full Review Anuj Kumar The Hindu The elaborate disclaimer is more intricate than the storyline. It tries to bind our viewing experience into a series of dos and don’ts, but what one eventually experiences is not in sync with the disclaimer’s logic. Mar 17, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Mickey13 Action packed entire movie . There was no intermission . Could have used to slow my heart rate ! Good acting. The subtitles were not that hard too manage. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/25 Full Review Google Amazing movie ! Must watch ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Harish N "The Diplomat" (2025), starring John Abraham, presents a narrative centered around diplomacy and likely intrigue. While Abraham's presence on screen is undoubtedly a draw, the film unfortunately doesn't quite deliver a consistently engaging experience, ultimately resulting in a somewhat lukewarm impression. John Abraham carries the film with his characteristic intensity and screen presence. His performance as the central diplomat is likely a key element of the movie's appeal. However, the storyline of "The Diplomat" doesn't fully captivate. The narrative, while potentially exploring complex international relations or tense negotiations, struggles to maintain a strong grip on the viewer's attention throughout its runtime. The pacing might be uneven, or the central conflict may lack the necessary urgency to be truly compelling. While the film may have its moments and John Abraham's performance could be a highlight, the overall lack of consistent engagement prevents "The Diplomat" from being a standout thriller or drama. It settles into a watchable but not particularly memorable category. Ultimately, "The Diplomat" (2025) might serve as a decent one-time watch, primarily for fans of John Abraham. However, those seeking a deeply engaging and memorable cinematic experience might find it somewhat lacking. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Nistha D It’s an amazing movie! Though short, it’s based on a real-life story and stands apart from typical Hindi films filled with violence or romance. This one is raw, realistic, and truly impactful. It sheds light on real issues that are happening right now, making it not just a film but an eye-opener. There’s so much to learn from it. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it as a must-watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/11/25 Full Review DarkHorse T Plot in Two Sentences A fastidious government envoy (because of course) boards a train, meets improbably glamorous strangers, uncovers a world-shattering conspiracy—and then forgets what made the conspiracy world-shattering in the first place. What Went Wrong (Spoiler: Everything) Pacing So Slothful You’ll Grow Moss The film drones on as if the director mistook “diplomacy” for “nap time.” Every scene lumbers along at a pace that screams, “I’m in charge”—when really it’s just lost. It’s the cinematic equivalent of waiting for paint to dry… in slow motion. Dialogue That Could Cure Insomnia Characters deliver lines with the enthusiasm of someone reading the terms and conditions of a software update. The director apparently thought wooden, cliché-riddled conversations were “realistic,” like watching two mannequins recite Shakespeare—if Shakespeare were drunk and half-asleep. Direction by Committee… of One Uninspired Brain Whoever sat in the director’s chair clearly mistook “vision” for “television static.” Every shot feels slapped together, as if he skimmed a YouTube tutorial on framing 10 minutes before shooting. It’s astonishing how many scenes could be improved by simply pointing the camera at literally anything else. Performances Shepherded into Mediocrity The actors look so lost, you’d think they were auditioning for a different film. Kudos to the director for teaching them how to emote exactly zero percent more than required. If enthusiasm were contagious, this set would be the safest place on earth. Music and Soundtrack—A Crime Against Ears The score grinds along like an elevator stuck between floors, and the sound design is just background noise pretending to matter. It’s almost impressive how the director managed to drain all joy from what should have been a thrilling build-up. A Director in Need of Direction To the person who calls themself “director” here: did you learn your craft in a “how-not-to” workshop? Because I can’t believe someone with access to a camera and film stock could turn out something this hollow. If this is your magnum opus, I’d hate to see your finger painting. Better luck next time—if next time ever comes. 1/2 star for the train, because at least it moved. The rest? Don’t hold your breath. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Neel N John is very powerful and very sharp. Suspense and thrilling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
